Rule

Current Deadline: November 30, 1999

Writing or artwork contribution ideas for future issues of The Short Order can be sent to The Editor for consideration. There is no monetary compensation for material published in The Short Order but we do provide full acknowledgement of your work on the website. We do not publish actual short fiction in the newsletter as we are meant to be a support organization for all writers and readers. Please feel free to send material at any time without regard to our Deadline, if we don’t receive it in time we will consider it for the next issue.

WRITING
Please send written material in plain text in the body of your email message or as a plain text UUencoded(or other common encoding) file attached to your email. If you wish you can contact the editor first with your ideas to determine if the material is appropriate. Material that can be presented in multiple parts as a series is of special interest.

ARTWORK
Front cover graphics for upcoming issues of the web edition of The Short Order are needed. Check the Front Cover at
http://www.thewindjammer.com/smfs/newsletter
for an example. Artwork submitted for a Front Cover panel should be in .gif or .jpeg format 496 pixels wide by 352 pixels high with a minimum possible file size(i.e. optimized for the web). The image should have a mystery theme and should contain the words "The Short Order" in large type and the words “Mystery Netletter” in smaller type. You can include your copyright, name, email, and/or website URL in small print at the bottom of the image. If you want to supply simply the image than we can take care of adding the titles, copyright, name etc. to the image if you prefer. We reserve the right to crop, scale, and optimize the image as needed for the webpage.

Other artwork will be considered for the Web Edition as long as it is mystery theme related. Please
email the Editor with a description of the work.
