FROM THE EDITOR
This is our first issue of 1999. There's a lot of catching up to do. This issue is chock full of "How To" information for you writers out there. I hope you all try your hand at a few Hot Flashes or Clerihews, this issue will point you in the right direction.
The Short Mystery Fiction Society(SMFS) website has been totally re-organized, updated, and made ready for visitors. Please feel free to stop by and visit. The Society seeks to actively recognize writers and readers who promote and support the creative artform of short mysteries in the press, in other mystery organizations, and through awards. This Netletter is a product of those efforts.
The main SMFS homepage can be found at: http://www.thewindjammer.com/smfs
The SMFS completed voting on the 2nd Annual Derringer Awards on April 10th 1999. See our Special Announcement below. More information on the Derringers can be found at: http://www.thewindjammer.com/smfs/html/derringers.html
A weblist of all Derringer nominated stories, with links to net copies of most of the stories, is online at: http://www.thewindjammer.com/smfs/html/99nominees.html
