We’re a Web Design Company?! So what’s with all the sailboats?

Some people may find it strange that the title of our company is “Windjammer”, especially as we are a web design company. Originally we would get a lot of enquiries from people who thought we were “Windjammer Barefoot Cruises”. We are not that company or related in any way to them except in similarity of the name. It’s also a source of some frustration that many of the Google advertisements that come up on our site have to do with ocean cruises and similar things. Oh well, technology isn’t perfect.

The owner’s background was in the Northeast United States where sailing was a frequent pastime, especially in our youth. We love old tall ships and felt that they were the perfect symbol of the entrepreneurial spirit that built the United States of America. Thus the name “Windjammer Company” was born.
