Comment BelowLandscape • Media: PhotographAs today is a Full Quarter Moon in my neck of the woods I thought this photo would be appropriate. This is a modern construction of the ancient system of marking time and season with stones positioned to point to celestial events. This one is on Cape Cod in Massachusetts in the United States and just has some of the basic indicators for the Solstices and the Equinoxes and maybe others. Not that we really have a need for such things in this age of automatically updating atomic clocks and personal wrist watches. On the other hand, I think there is something subliminal and ancestral that one feels when seeing standing stones of any sort. Particularly if they are put there by human hands and not just a natural feature. And of course a feeling of being grounded and connected to the Earth is what sites like this are all about.
