Tree Against Sky

A black and white image of a tree against the sky.

I still love black and white photographs because they reduce the image down to it’s basic forms, relationships, lines, and contrasts. I think bare, leafless trees make great black and white subjects because the innate structure of the tree is an organic pattern that appeals to the human mind. It’s no coincindence that we we have family “trees”, mindmaps, flow charts, etc. They all follow this basic structure from nature—the tree.
