Two Turkeys Talking In Tandem

A pair of wild turkeys in full feather.

I managed to follow these two wild turkeys along a path at a local park and got this picture of them all “puffed” up. They seemed to be strolling along engaged in some conversation only they, or an expert ornithologist, would understand. This picture convinced me of my need for a telephoto lens of course, as the muted colors of the feathers were very beautiful. I was surprised to realize how very similar in anatomy and behaviour these birds are to peacocks which have a much more grandiose appeal to most than these lowly turkeys.
